Recording for the new album has finished!

On the 8th of August, in the middle of some violent weather, I recorded my new solo album at Kanagawa Art Hall. On this album, I have recorded short pieces mainly by Brahms but also by Liszt and Debussy. Stay tuned for the release date.

The annual chamber music seminar and concert is drawing near. August 27th to 30 in Osaka and November 2nd, 16th and 17th in Yokohama.

JT Art Hall The Grand Trio 10th anniversary concert. The Grand Trio along with special guests will perform a piano quintet in an all-Brahms program.

Profile

Misato Yokoyama was born in Obihiro, Japan where she began playing the piano at the age of four. After winning first prize at the PTNA National Young Pianists Competition,she was awarded a full scholarship to the Royal Academy of Music in London, where she studied under Christopher Elton and Maria Curcio.

She graduated with a DipRAM, the highest distinction for performance and received an award for the best postgraduate pianist of the year. After graduation she worked as a teaching assistant for Maria Curcio until she returned to Japan in 2000.

She is currently based in Yokohama and playing solo and chamber music concerts with various artists.
